About this event

Music • Opera

This classical concert features solos and ensembles of the most well-known Zarzuelas of all time.

Zarzuela is a traditional Spanish musical genre that originated in the 17th century and has since evolved into a distinctive lyric form combining operatic, theatrical, and musical elements, featuring a mix of sung and spoken parts.

The genre found its way to the Americas during the colonial period and subsequently experienced a notable expansion and adaptation in the New World. As Spanish culture took root in Latin America, the genre merged with indigenous musical traditions, creating a unique fusion that reflected the cultural diversity of the region.

Featuring international singers Lucia Panizza, Alesandra Onjko, Michael Gonzalez, Harry Otero, accompanied by Dr. Libor Dudas on the piano.

Free Admission, Suggested Donation $5 - $20
