Yule Log Workshop

Join us for a fun and creative holiday yule log workshop at Lorrimer Sanctuary. Get your hands dirty and let your imagination bloom as we guide you through the process of creating your own lovely yule log to take home. In the process you’ll learn about the yule traditions used for centuries by people during the darkest nights of the year and get to know the local ecology of NJ trees, including the hardwoods we use for logs. Don't miss out on this opportunity to unleash your inner artist and take home a stunning handmade seasonal decoration to proudly display!

This program is suited for teens and adults.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring anything to make my log?

No! All materials will be provided by New Jersey Audubon, including logs, fresh evergreens for decoration, and natural decor (pinecones, dried fruit, etc.). If you have special materials you want use you are more than welcome to bring them!
