Youth Introduction to Clay (ages 7-14)
Overview
CLASS DATES: January 17, 24, 31, February 7, 14, 21,28 and March 6, 2026
In this hands-on class, students will learn the essential techniques of working with clay while exploring the many possibilities of ceramic art. Through a variety of rotating projects— including wheel throwing, hand-building, figurative sculpture, functional ware, tile making, and surface design—students will develop both foundational skills and creative confidence.
Guided by clear demonstrations and supportive instruction, students will practice creating functional forms as well as experiment with sculptural approaches, texture, and color. No prior experience is needed—just bring your curiosity, imagination, and a willingness to get your hands dirty and have fun!
No exprience required. Just bring your curiosity and be ready to get your hands dirty and have fun! All students should wear clothes your don't mind getting dirty (clay washes out) and closed-toed shoes. When working with clay, skip jewelry, roll up your sleeves, tie back long hair and keep nails trimmed for the best experience. Clay and all tools will be provided by Paduach School of Art and Design.
All classes may be repeated.
