This workshop explores Polyvagal Theory and Neuroception to recognise the potential impact on us in the workplace; then considers why congruence is important. Learning outcomes will include how to recognise dysregulation and utilise strategies that staff may draw on to ground themselves on a day to day basis. Neuroception, as described by Dr Stephen Porges considers how this may be presented in the workplace and coupled with learning outcomes to reduce stress and promote wellbeing.

Niki has worked for 25 years in SEN, is a play therapist, therapeutic life story practitioner, filial therapist, CATT protocol practitioner, specialist clay therapist, specialist yoga teacher for children with PMLD, ASC and ADHD with a focus on somatic approaches, and has completed her master’s in education with a focus on early clinical and non-clinical interventions.

Niki is currently a headteacher of a SEN school where the growth of various therapeutic interventions has been developed to support the children through the challenges that they have experienced in their life.
