Where do I park?

There’s a mix of free and paid street parking available along 200 South and the surrounding blocks, including along Pierpont Avenue. If you're parking at The Gateway Mall, it's just a short walk — Botanika SLC is located kitty-corner from Wiseguys Comedy Club at Gateway Mall.

What kinds of business owners will be there?

Accepted Answer

Service providers, freelancers, creative entrepreneurs, small shop owners, artists, etc: people who’ve built businesses around their skills, passions, or values. Most of us work solo or in small teams.

Question 3

Is this for women only?

Accepted Answer

Not officially. While the majority of attendees are women, anyone who resonates with the values of this space — curiosity, courage, creativity, respect, community — is welcome.

Question 4

What does “Troublemaker” mean in this context?

Accepted Answer

It’s not about chaos — it’s about courage. Troublemakers challenge harmful norms, unlearn what doesn’t serve us, and build values-led, human-first, creatively free businesses in a world that wasn’t designed for us.

Can I bring a friend?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Just make sure they grab a ticket so we can plan ahead (we need individual names for name tags and for sending event updates if they arise).

Is this a networking event?

Accepted Answer

Technically, sure. But it’s not the awkward kind where you make a weird pitch and collect business cards you’ll never use. Think connection > collection. It’s a guided-but-casual evening with real conversation, creative energy, and community: not for cold pitching or harvesting emails.

Do I have to be full-time in my business to come?

Not at all. Whether you’re full-time, part-time, or side-hustling your way into entrepreneurship, you’re welcome. This is a space for people walking the independent path, wherever you are on the journey.

Will there be food or drinks?

Botanika SLC will have drinks and snacks available for purchase — and we highly encourage you to support this amazing small business while you're there. Think artisanal, beautifully curated, and totally bougie (in the best way).

Why is this event $6, but used to be free?

Accepted Answer

To help you actually show up. We totally get it: the version of you who RSVP’d isn’t always the same version who exists on a Wednesday night after work. But we want to support the version of you who wanted to show up. Who was craving community, new connections, and some momentum in your business.
