It is more important than ever for those who want to lead in companies, non-profits and volunteer groups to be prepared for environments that can be experiencing varying levels of uncertainty and even chaos. As the dialogue around us becomes polarizing, we can lose sight of how much we have internalized this stress into our own communications. Organizations need leaders who can successfully navigate and respond to these situations with maturity and awareness and guide teams to healthy dynamics.

In this presentation, Chris Kann will share helpful tips on identifying and diffusing our own and others’ emotions, as well as how to identify communication practices that can help lead to keeping the focus on working together in healthy and productive ways. We’ll take a look at our speaking and listening patterns, seeking ways to prevent building unnecessary narrative and distraction into our interactions with others. This session will be helpful for both personal and professional situations.

Chris Kann has had a business career spanning over 35 years that has included time in public and private corporations, and over 25 years as an entrepreneur. She brings her knowledge of career transitions and work/life challenges to her speaking engagements, and her work with clients as a Registered Corporate Coach®. Chris is an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Business and Marketing.

Chris is a frequent presenter and published author on marketing and market research topics. She shared her coaching insights and tips as the host of the Mind Body Spirit Living personal growth/lifestyle radio show/podcast, with episodes available on Apple Podcasts. She has been a presenter at many conferences and events, including at the UW-Milwaukee Womens Leaders Conference, and for the American Family Dreambank.
