Join us on Thursday, July 16th at 6:30pm to hear
3 teams from Yale and 
3 teams from NYU 
present their pitches
before a panel of 5 expert judges!

The teams are currently participanting in a summer accelerator (either Yale's Summer Fellowship or NYU's Summer Launchpad) where they receive funding, co-working space, and mentorship to help them launch and grow their ventures.

About the NYU Summer Launchpad 

The NYU Summer Launchpad offers graduating NYU student teams funding, workshops, speaker series, and mentorship to ground entrepreneurs in lean startup principles while simultaneously connecting them with leaders in the local startup ecosystem. During this 10-week summer accelerator program, student teams focus on growing their startups, taking up co-working space at the NYU Leslie eLab. The program is run by the NYU Entrepreneurial Institute.

About the YEI Fellowship

The YEI Fellowship is a competitive 10-week summer program for Yale’s most promising student and student-faculty startups. An intensive bootcamp, the fellowship helps students launch and grow their new business ventures with an award of $15,000 in grant funding to wholly dedicate their summers to learning and launching their business, imparting crucial skills, tactics and best practices in business fundamentals, and connecting teams to experienced mentors and investors in YEI’s extensive network. The program is run by the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute.


Andrew Kangpan

Analyst at ff Venture Capital

Andy joined ff Venture Capital in 2015. As an analyst, he's focused on performing due diligence on potential investments, following industry trends, keeping a close eye on emerging technologies and working with entrepreneurs. Previously, Andy was a Senior Associate at Prophet, a global strategy consulting firm. He provided strategic advisory on a range of topics including customer acquisition and segmentation, new product and value proposition development, eCommerce strategy, new market entry, brand portfolio management and market positioning. Andy graduated from The Stern School of Business at NYU with a bachelor's degree in Finance and Marketing.

Alex Iskold

Managing Director, NYC @ Techstars

Alex Iskold is a tech entrepreneur and Investor working in New York City. He is currently the Managing Director, NYC @ Techstars. Alex founded GetGlue – a leading social TV network which was acquired by in 2013 and created one of the most exciting startups in NYC, backed by Union Square Ventures, RRE Ventures, TimeWarner Investments and Rho Ventures. He won 2011 Mashable Breakout Startup of the Year and was named to Hollywood Reporter 2012 Digital Power 50. He also started a company called Information Laboratory that was acquired by IBM in 2003. Alex also taught an award-winning undergraduate software engineering class at NYU.

Jay Kranzler, MD, PhD

Global Head, Neuroscience, Pain & Sensory Disorders, External R&D Innovation (ERDI), Worldwide Research & Development, Pfizer, Inc.

Dr. Jay Kranzler is responsible for strengthening Pfizer’s Worldwide R&D portfolio addressing CNS Disorders and has 24 years of experience in the venture and biotechnology sector. Following a joint MD/PhD in Psychiatry / Pharmacology from Yale University, Jay joined McKinsey as a Management Consultant before taking the role of President & CEO at Cytel Corporation. He helped take Cytel public, increase market capitalization more than ten-fold, and cofounded and spun-out two companies, Glytec and Sequel Therapeutics. In 1995, Dr. Kranzler took on the role of Chairman & CEO of Cypress Biosciences, Inc., and was President & CEO at Karuna Pharmaceuticals. He is the inventor on over 30 patents, received the Innovator award from the International Society of CNS Clinical Development and is an Adjunct Professor and Entrepreneur-in-Residence at New York University Stern School of Business and School of Medicine, and an Executive in Residence at UCSD’s Rady School of Management.

Brad Hargreaves

Cofounder, General Assembly

Brad cofounded General Assembly and is a Venture Partner at Maveron, General Assembly's lead investor.  As part of the General Assembly founding team, Brad led the growth of the company's education business from its launch in 2011 into a global institution with over a dozen campuses.  Most recently, he was Chief Product Officer until 2014. Brad has been named to Vanity Fair’s “The Next Establishment”, Inc Magazine’s “30 Under 30”, and Business Insider’s “Silicon Alley 100.”  He writes about entrepreneurship, New York City and life at

Anne MacDonald

Marketing and Business Development Executive

Anne MacDonald has worked in marketing for the past 33 years, leading Fortune 100 companies through significant shifts in strategy and positioning. She currently serves as a consultant to a global retailer and an advisor to private equity and venture capital firms. Anne was the Chief Marketing Officer for Citigroup and the President and Chief Marketing Office of Macy’s where she led the team to create a true national brand after Macy’s increased their footprint from 250 to 850 stores. She also helped grow and built out a direct-to-consumer business for Travelers Insurance companies as their Chief Marketing Officer. Anne currently serves on the boards of Rentrak Corporation and Hiscox, Inc. and is a Mentor at the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute.
