XL MIDDLETON

XL Middleton is a producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Pasadena, California. With roots in West Coast G-funk and a forward-thinking lens on boogie and modern funk, he co-founded his own imprint, MoFunk Records, and has released a string of albums including Tap Water (2015) and 2 Minutes Till Midnight (2019).

His work has been cited as part of the West Coast funk renaissance and his label has become a benchmark for the modern funk scene. Expect deep synth grooves, shoulder-locking bass lines and an authentic dance-floor funk experience.

MONIQUEA

Moniquea grew up in Gary, Indiana and raised in Pasadena, California, steeped in 70s soul, 80s synth-R&B and funk-laden boogie. She burst into the spotlight singing at the Rose Bowl aged 15, and has since opened big shows and performed major festivals across the US.

Her full-length albums — Yes No Maybe (2014) and Blackwavefunk (2017) — produced in collaboration with XL Middleton and others, have marked her out as one of modern funk’s most soulful and stylish voices. Moniquea delivers velvet vocals, driving rhythms and a vintage-yet-forward aesthetic that will light up the dance floor.
