WWA Presents: "Telling Our Story: Using Thematic Framing"
Overview
Hey Writers,
Join us for Week 5 of the 2025–2026 workshop! This year, our theme is storytelling, and each session focuses on a key craft technique that helps us shape the architecture of our narratives. We will also begin sharing our work for peer review!
Week 5: Telling Our Story: Using Thematic Framing
Explore how titles act as an anchor for theme, emotion, and reader expectation; and how the right title can shape the entire direction of your story.
📅 Date: Sunday, December 14, 2025
🕐 Time: 1:00 PM (Doors open at 12:45pm)
📍 Location: 131 Spring Street, 4th Floor, New York, NY
🎟️ RSVP here – Seating is limited, so don’t wait! All writers 21+ are welcome.
📚 Mandatory reading: How to Triumph Like a Girl by Ada Limón (Members have access to all readings for the year. Click here to become a member!)
While reading, think about: How does a title influence a story’s focus, tone, or thematic arc? How does Limón use her title to reframe power, identity, or vulnerability?
PEER REVIEW SESSION
The first FIVE members to submit their work via email will have the opportunity to have their piece peer-reviewed during this session. Workshopping will be available at our in-person meetings only. Virtual options are not available at this time.
We hope to see you there <3
