The WVRJP has heard loud and clear that everyone wants to learn more! One of the things that they are most interested in is acquiring the skills to be a circle keeper and to be able to facilitate a Restorative Justice Dialogue. On June 13, 2025, we’ll convene at the West Virginia University College of Law for a full day of building skills. All participants will have the opportunity to learn from experienced restorative justice practitioners.

Each participant will be engaged in a half-day session to build their skills in Restorative Justice Circle Keeping and a second half-day session to build skills in Victim-Offender Dialogue. Each session will include a presentation by a nationally-recognized restorative justice practitioner and an interactive session to practice those essential skills. Judge Wesley Saint Clair will be leading the portion of the program about circle keeping and Tracye Battle will be focusing on victim-offender dialogue.

While the event is in-person, an online option will be available, but participants are strongly encouraged to participate in person.

We are in the process of submitting the materials for continuing education (CLE) for Attorneys, Peer Recovery Specialists, and Licensed Professional Counselors. A certificate will be provided for Law Enforcement attending the program.

If you will be staying in Morgantown, WVRJP has arranged for blocks of rooms at the following hotels:

Frequently asked questions

What are some important dates?

There are two very important dates to keep in mind! One is March 15, the deadline for Volunteer Applications. The other is March 31 Is the date when the early registration ends.

Why is the online participation so costly?

One of the purposes of this and most WVRJP sponsored events is for participants to strengthen the RJ community and the skills necessary to be a restorative-justice practitioner are far easier to practice in person.

Can I volunteer? Will the registration fee be waived?

The WVRJP is a volunteer-run organization and we depend on volunteers for all our events. Please complete the registration ticket as a volunteer and complete this application by March 15 in order to be eligible to volunteer. https://bit.ly/4jCSqZ4

Are any meals provided?

Yes! We will have some morning coffee and snacks as you arrive and lunch will be served at the law school. The cost is included in the registration.
