Overview

Get your hands dirty working in the West Valley College Biology Department's campus native plant gardens!

Join West Valley's Biology Department for a native garden workday! These events are open to all community members and are an inclusive and safe space for all. Build community on campus while learning how native plant gardens support biodiversity. Gain hands-on experience planting and maintaining native plants, identifying invasive species, and bring home sustainable practices for your own garden!

Meet us on the North side of campus in the front of the school of Science and Math. There is free event parking in Lot 2. Activities vary depending on the season but may include: invasive plant removal, planting, and general maintenance of the gardens.

Always bring long pants that can get dirty, layers, a hat, sunscreen, water, and a snack! Tools and gloves are provided.

There are restrooms and water filling stations on site.
