Give! me! a! Brake!
If you’re looking to learn more about brakes and shifting in a welcoming space with other WTF-NB riders, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the mechanics of how your brakes and derailleurs work! In this clinic, we’ll discuss:
- Identifying what type of brakes your bike has and how to adjust them
- How a derailleur works and troubleshooting shifting issues
- Assessing your brake pads, cables and housing, or drivetrain components (chain, cassette, chainrings)
Understanding these systems is an important step if you are interested in maintaining your own bike. But even if you aren’t, knowing more about brakes and shifting can inspire confidence as a rider and bike shop customer. Come with questions and curiosity!
