About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes

Join us as we write to our local government officials to demand action for our community and our environment! We will brainstorm effective ways to share our stories to remind our government leaders that our voices and needs matter. After finishing our letters, we will all walk together to our nearest post office, wish our letters a safe journey to their destination, and discuss how we can continue to take action in our everyday lives.

Attendees will have the opportunity to either write on behalf of a recent ICE detainee or an Environmental Social Justice issue currently affecting our community - OR - both topics if you choose.

Envelopes, stamps, pens, and paper will be provided

Feel free to bring your favorite lucky pen, water, and food to fuel your mind!

Other things to bring:

  • Picnic blanket or chair
  • Hardcover book/journal to write on
