Writing and Publishing for Helpers and Healers

Do you have insights, stories, or ideas that could help people beyond your private practice? Have you thought about writing—maybe a book, a blog, a children’s story, or something else entirely? Maybe you’ve started a draft or keep a folder of ideas, but the publishing world feels overwhelming.

In this workshop with IMP faculty and author Dr. Chris Willard, we’ll demystify the writing and publishing process together. You’ll get practical tools, guidance, and encouragement to move forward—whether you’re just starting out or ready to share your work more widely.

We’ll cover:

  • Finding your unique voice and identifying your audience
  • Writing pitches and query letters that get noticed
  • Connecting with editors and literary agents
  • Handling imposter syndrome, writer’s block, introversion, and the discomfort of self-promotion

Whether you want to write a book, get published in major outlets, or simply learn more about the process, you’re welcome to join us.

Dr. Chris Willard is a clinical psychologist, author, and consultant based in Massachusetts. He has written over 20 books on mindfulness, mental health, and well-being, including Growing Up Mindful and How We Grow Through What We Go Through.
