Do you want to learn how to be a fearless writer, believe in your message, establish your unique voice, and respond to bullies? Do you have self-doubts about expressing your authentic voice through your written stories? Do you appreciate the differences between writing humor, satire, and unnecessary nastiness?

This workshop is for you! Three established writers will offer advice, share personal examples, and describe writing exercises to help strengthen your confidence.

  • Learn from professionals who have honed their humor and writing skills through positive attitudes.
  • Listen to their stories of how they survived the slings and arrows of misguided critics.
  • Review how to craft your work to engage positive feedback and ignore bullies.
  • Write and read your work in a non-hostile environment.
  • Participate in engaging discussions and connect with like-minded individuals who share your desire to write against the wind!
  • Enjoy lively discussions about the differences between humor and satire.

All participants will receive tote bags, books, and writing assignments. Lunch and afternoon appetizers are included.

Is the workshop for beginning or published writers?

This workshop can benefit all levels of writers. Attendees are encouraged to bring samples of their written work and volunteer to read excerpts. The focus will be to improve confidence and manage both positive and negative feedback.
