Writer’s Roulette—An Hour for Prompted Writing
Overview
Writer’s Roulettes are prompted, low-pressure writing sessions that give you a bit of direction... and then let you run with the rest of the story.
At the top of the hour, we start with a prompt—sometimes a single word, sometimes a phrase. Then, we'll take 20-25 minutes to write whatever comes to mind: a personal essay draft, a fictional scene, a poem, or something entirely unexpected.
After the writing session, we'll have an open invitation to share work (no pressure) with our gathered supportive group of fellow writers.
No pressure. No perfection. Just writing. Whether you're looking for inspiration, practice, or just a creative jolt, Writer’s Roulette is your chance to see where the words take you.

Quick hello and settle in
We'll start by getting comfortable in our seats, taking some meditative deep breaths, and settling in to our writing time.
Start writing!
The prompt is revealed! Everyone gets 20-25 minutes to write.
Sharing & feedback
We'll invite writers to read what they wrote during our writing time. No pressure—you don't have to share and you can always pass. For those who read, we'll give feedback on what we loved, what's working, and how the writing made us feel.
