WRITE THE ARCHIVE
Overview
The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) Archives & Collections is bursting with stories and history. Think decades-old sketchbooks, hand-crafted sculptures and photographs of artists who have walked the corridors of The Glasgow School of Art from 1845 until the present day. Now, it’s your chance to write the archive!
Join Wee Writing Club for a writing workshop using selected objects from the Archive’s fascinating collection. You’ll hear the stories behind the items - from the people that made them, to the activism that charged them. Then, through gentle writing prompts and guided exercises, you’ll use this inspiring setting to lean into your own creativity.
No experience is required, and there’s no need to share anything you’ve written (unless you want to!).
What do I need?
Please bring something to write on (paper or a notebook is good!), and a pencil. Please note: no food, drinks or ink pens are allowed in the GSA Archives & Collections.
About Wee Writing Club
Wee Writing Club is a community writing group in Glasgow’s Southside. We know how hard it can be to make time to be creative amongst the hustle and bustle of daily life. We also know how good it feels to be creative amongst like-minded folk. Every month, we meet in a cosy plant shop (Good Days, Battlefield) to offer a space for writing, connection and play. Whether you consider yourself creative or not, everyone is welcome.
