WRAP & SLAY
Overview
Wrap & Slay is a beginner-friendly, hands-on plaster sculpting workshop where everyday objects become bold, campy works of art.
Hosted at Hamburger Mary's Ontario this queer-centered art night invites participants to wrap real objects using plaster bandage, build sculptural texture, and finish their pieces with paint and acrylic markers.
Led by artist Tan Jazz Mont (he/him), the workshop focuses on experimentation, play, and creative freedom — no prior art experience required.
What we’ll do:
- Wrap real objects using plaster bandage
- Build structure and sculptural texture
- Paint and embellish with acrylics and markers
- Create a finished, one-of-a-kind sculpture to take home
What to bring:
- One small-to-medium object to wrap(chips bag, soda can, bottle, toy, or other funky find)
- Curiosity and willingness to get a little messy
Please avoid fragile or sentimental items.
What’s included:
- Plaster bandages
- Paint and acrylic markers
- Guided demonstration and instruction
- All necessary materials
This workshop is beginner-friendly and intentionally welcoming.
Queer, campy, and creative chaos encouraged.
