—The iNaturalist app, which you can install for free on your smartphone, will help you identify and learn about all the plants, animals, insects, and fungi you encounter. This training will enable our Woodstock Pollinator Pathway Community to open a wonderful window on to the natural world, and bring us into a larger community of naturalists.
—In this hands-on session, you’ll learn how to use the iNaturalist app to practice plant, animal and fungi identification, while contributing to long-term monitoring efforts for seasonal changes. Discover the importance of community science and how it helps scientists track the impacts of our changing climate, habitat loss and more.
—The program will start off inside with an introduction to iNaturalist and how to setup and use the app as well as the website. Then we will head outside to learn how use it to identify species. Bring your smart device (phone or tablet) and come prepared for being both indoors and outdoors.
—Visit the iNaturalist website for more information and access to the free app. We encourage participants to download and install the app in advance of the workshop. iPhone and Android versions available.
Please bring a $5 donation which will help us defray the costs of this training. We look forward to seeing you!
