Event description

Description

Spend 90 minutes with Lucia and Sam as they discuss ideal conditions for growing coffee and compare them to current common recommendations.

During this workshop, they will present an introduction to the soil microbiome, including the different microbe groups and the interactions between groups. Sam will cover what causes imbalances and poor growing conditions. He will discuss fungicides/herbicides, improper fertilization and poor mineral balance.

Lucia will cover the common fermentation mistakes and stumbling blocks. This will be useful if you've tried fermentation techniques and have not seen the expected results. She will show how this nutrition approach can highlight the investment made in the farm that could otherwise be lost through poor processing techniques.

After the presentation there will be a cupping of example coffees of this approach.

After the cupping there will be an open Q&A.
