Workwear Canvas Apron Workshop
Overview
Join us at The Makers Gallery for a hands-on experience creating your very own canvas apron. Taught by visiting Maker Haley Houseman this in-person event will guide you through the process of designing and crafting a durable apron.
Students can bring their own machine or borrow one
Build both skills and something you’ll actually use in this beginner-friendly sewing class. Over the course of this session, you’ll learn to cut and sew durable canvas into a functional workwear apron—perfect for cooking, gardening, studio work, or any creative project. We’ll cover essential sewing techniques for heavy-duty fabrics, including topstitching, edge finishing, and adding pockets for tools or utensils. You’ll leave with a sturdy, stylish apron designed to last, plus the know-how to tackle future projects with confidence. All materials provided, with plenty of options to customize your apron’s style and functionality.
