August 3 –The Charm of Urushi (Japanese Lacquerware)+ Kintsugi
Urushi (Japanese lacquerware) has long been revered for its subtle beauty, exceptional durability, and its connection to nature. Once so revered, it was called “Japan.”
In this workshop, we will explore the timeless charm of urushi and its role in the art of kintsugi—the poetic practice of mending broken ceramics with urushi and gold.
We’ll guide you through:
