Workshop: Matcha Time for Mindfulness II - Special Edition at Michelin-starred sushi restaurant Kosaka in the West Village.

On Sunday, October 12th at 3 pm

Following the success of our four-part summer series, we are pleased to offer this special one-time workshop. 75-minute session highlights a unique element of The Way of Tea (Japanese tea ceremony), blending hands-on practice in preparing matcha with thoughtful insights into its cultural and aesthetic significance. There will also be space for open discussion and questions, making the program welcoming for both newcomers and returning participants.

Who This Is For:

  • Those seeking inner calm and presence.
  • Anyone curious about matcha, the tea ceremony, or Japanese culture.
  • Creatives and contemplatives in search of inspiration.
  • Beginners and returning guests alike.

In this session, you will learn:

1. About Matcha– Discover the origin, health benefits, and cultural significance of this vibrant green powdered tea.

2. The Importance of the Tea Ceremony– Understand how Chanoyu cultivates mindfulness, presence, and harmony in daily life.

3. Etiquette when you drink matcha– Learn how to receive and enjoy matcha with grace, awareness, and calm.

4. How to Make Your Own Matcha– Receive hands-on guidance and step-by-step techniques so you can confidently prepare and enjoy matcha at home.

Workshop Highlights

  • High-Quality Matcha– Taste the finest matcha sourced from Uji, Kyoto, bringing authenticity and depth to the experience.
  • Special Tea Bowls– Experience the elegance of handcrafted tea bowls by the renowned ceramic artist Kifumi Kawamura from Kamakura, infusing each sip with the essence of Zen and masterful artistry.
