Event description

Description

This full-day NOAA-led training will introduce fundamental green infrastructure concepts and practices that can play
a critical role in making New Jersey’s coastal (and inland!) communities more resilient to natural hazards.

• Local speakers will share expertise on New Jersey’s freshwater and marine coastal ecosystems, existing green
infrastructure projects across the State, and ways in which green infrastructure has been integrated into
planning processes and policy in New Jersey municipalities.

• Participants will learn about a range of natural assets and green infrastructure approaches that can improve community resilience through interactive activities and group discussion.

• Participants will make valuable connections with a diverse group of both new and experienced green
infrastructure practitioners across the state, and come out of the workshop with concept plans to share with their municipalities

Credits available: American Planning Association (6), Association of Floodplain Managers (5)

Credits pending: American Society of Landscape Architects
