Workshop for Educators: Remixing Inspiration

Workshop for Educators: Remixing Inspiration

By Long Beach Museum of Art

Overview

Tour Coulter Jacobs’ LA- and pop-culture–inspired art, then create your own playful, remix-style artwork in a hands-on workshop.

Coulter Jacobs draws inspiration from the world around him—pop culture, literature, flea markets, car culture, and the streets of Los Angeles—to create bold, layered artworks that merge outsider art, tattoo imagery, and high art. In this hands-on workshop, participants will tour Coulter Jacobs: This Side of the Truth and explore how he transforms everyday influences into original work.

Inspired by Jacobs’ approach, participants will create their own artworks, remixing ideas and personal expressions in a hands-on workshop.

Light refreshments will be served.

This session will take place at LBMA Downtown.

The Long Beach Museum of Art Educator Workshops are generously supported by the BCM Foundation.
