Workshop for Educators: Art and Popular Culture

Workshop for Educators: Art and Popular Culture

By Long Beach Museum of Art

Overview

Tour Robert Williams’ pop-culture–driven art, then create your own mixed-media work inspired by his energetic, cartoon-infused style.

Robert Williams’ vivid, cartoon-inspired paintings draw from American popular culture, underground comix, and custom car art to create sharp, often absurd social commentary. In this educator workshop, participants will receive a tour of Robert Williams: Fearless Depictions, exploring how he merges illustration and popular culture, then create their own mixed-media artworks inspired by his energetic visual style.

Light refreshments will be served.

This session will take place at LBMA on Ocean Blvd.

The Long Beach Museum of Art Educator Workshops are generously supported by the BCM Foundation.
