Event description

Description

Spring is here and it’s a time for some physical and mental housekeeping. If you want some tips on establishing healthy boundaries, then please join us for this workshop on Saturday April 29th. We have many volunteers who work in caregiving roles – as companions, mentors, and in other capacites – this workshop will to help you navigate those relationships.

The workshop will be facilitated by Sarina Issenberg of the CARES Program. The CARES Program, which is a free program, uses a holistic and personalized approach designed to help caregivers mobilize their social support networks, access resources in the community, and better adapt to their caregiving role. Our workshop will help volunteers learn how to start establishing healthy boundaries whether it is at home, work, or in a volunteer setting.

Sarina is the Program Manager for the CARES Program at Lutheran Settlement House in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and her program’s purpose is to reduce the amount of stress and anxiety that comes with caring for an older (55+) relative, spouse, friend or neighbor who wants to remain living in his or her home, but is having difficulty due to physical or mental limitations. Sarina’s program consists of six individual or family counseling sessions for these courageous caregivers, as well as other resources, such as support groups, lectures and workshops.

*Refreshments will be provided*

Please RSVP by Friday April 21, 2017.

We look forward to seeing you!
