About the Host:

Yuan Hao Shi: After completing her PhD and Postdoc studies in chemical engineering in the United States, Yuan Hao worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. an American international corporation, before becoming an ordained nun of Tibetan Buddhism.

Yuan Hao Shi took refuge in 2007 and delved systematically into a thorough study of Buddhist teachings following Khenpo Sodargye Rinpoche, one of the most influential spiritual leaders of Tibetan Buddhism. In 2011, Yuan Hao Shi received her ordination as a Buddhist nun from Sodargye Rinpoche, her root guru, and continued to learn sutras, shastras and tantras of the Nyingma lineage at Larung Gar Five Sciences Buddhist Academy in China, the largest and most influential center for the study of Tibetan Buddhism in the world according to the New York Times. Yuan Hao Shi has finished studying the Five Great Treatises and is now overseeing Sodargye Rinpoche’s translation group at Larung Gar.

Yuan Fei Shi: From 2009 to 2013, Yuan Fei was a college student in Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, majoring in International Accounting. By the end of 2013, after having started her graduate studies at the University of York, UK, Yuan Fei’s interest in Buddhism was initiated. In 2014, after having attended the Fourth World Youth Buddhist Symposium in Hong Kong, Yuan Fei re-began her formal Buddhist studies of various sutras, shastras and tantras.
