Workshop Celebrate the New Year Write Your Wish on an Ema!
Overview
Start 2026 with a wish!
Join us for a special New Year workshop highlighting the tradition of ema—the wooden plaques used to write hopes and dreams for the year ahead.
Rev. Mori of Koyasan Beikoku Betsuin will share the meaning and origins of ema, along with a brief intro to New Year customs and the 2026 Year of the Horse zodiac. Then create your own ema using beautifully designed plaques featuring zodiac animals or the Seven Gods of Fortune. ($10 or $5; limited quantities.)
Plus, enjoy a free omikuji fortune as a New Year’s gift from the temple!
Free admission—registration required.
