The proposed Urban Design Guidelines are intended to create a coordinated and consistent design review process and promote a more thoughtful and holistic approach to City building.
Greater attention has been placed on the need to coordinate design review with preservation issues, public realm improvements, and transportation to ensure that public and private projects are consistent with the goals, priorities, and policies of the Planning Commission and the City.
The proposed Urban Design Guidelines will serve as the overarching document for design review throughout the City, providing a framework for the review process for both design professionals, such as developers and architects, as well as the general public.
Join San Francisco Planning for a community workshop to learn more about the proposed Urban Design Guidelines and what we've heard in our conversations with different neighborhoods across the City.
Before you attend, please be sure to fill out our questionnaire. Answering these questions prior to attending one of the workshops will help us provide you with the most relevant and helpful information.
