Works & Process Public Showing
By Marlboro Music
Overview
Join us in the Serkin Dance Studio to experience new works in development from NYC's MasterZ at Work Dance Family and New Chamber Ballet.
The Guggenheim’s Works & Process LaunchPad residencies return to the Marlboro campus in January. Among the groups that will be developing new work here are:
- Ballroom icon Courtney "Balenciaga" Washington and her company, MasterZ at Work Dance Family. Their latest project, 24/7 Diner, a finalist for the New England Foundation for the Arts National Dance Project, blends ballroom and street dance with theatrical storytelling to explore chosen family, resilience, and joy as acts of resistance.
- New Chamber Ballet. Praised by the New York Times as “one of the small-scale delights of the New York dance scene,” New Chamber Ballet is dedicated to the creation of new ballets performed to live chamber music.
Experience these new works in development during a free public showing on Wednesday, January 7 at 4 pm in the Serkin Center Dance Studio. Seating is limited, and reservations are required.
Marlboro is Works & Process’ first residency partner in Vermont, and the largest.
