Roisín Campbell-Palmer, a beaver ecologist working in Scotland, will take us right into the wetlands where these amazing animals are transforming landscapes. We’ll find out why they build dams, how they create homes for other creatures, and even how their clever construction work can help reduce flooding in nearby towns.
We’ll explore what it’s like to work outdoors studying animals and protecting habitats, and discover why reintroducing beavers is such an important step for UK wildlife.
Your students will have the chance to quiz Roisín live about her work and the training it takes to become a wildlife scientist. Afterwards, pupils can try their hand at building their own mini-dam challenge back in class.
