Overview

Join us for a working session about writing successful artist statements in partnership with Springboard for the Arts.

The Playwrights' Center is partnering with Springboard for the Arts to provide this working session to help theater artists create successful artist statements. The session will be a mix of presentation, writing prompts, and interactive workshop.

Playwright and author Saymoukda Duangphouxay Vongsay will lead this session.

The session will be held online via Zoom on Monday, January 12 from 6:00-7:30pm CST

Be sure to register early, as we have a limited number of spots available.

Saymoukda is a Lao-American playwright whose work has been presented by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center (NY), Theater Mu (MN), Lower Depth Theater (LA), Asian Improv Arts (IL), and elsewhere. She’s currently a Mellon Fdn Playwright in Residence at Theater Mu, a Jerome@Camargo Artist in Residence in Cassis, France, a Playwrights Center Core Writer, a Lanesboro Arts Artist in Residence, and a Forecast Public Art grantee. Recent honors include a Jerome Hill fellowship, a Bush Fdn Leadership fellowship, and being the first Minnesotan artist to be invited as an artist in residence at the Kennedy Center REACH.
