Workshop for forest landowners describing:

A variety of techniques to create healthy forests and help wildlife

Financial incentives and programs available to landowners
-
Opportunities to benefit a variety of bird species
Day 1 includes presentations by expert speakers from U.S. Forest Service, Penn State, Natural Resources Conservation Service, PA Game Commission, and Audubon PA about history of Pennsylvania’s forests,long-term management planning for your woods, landowner assistance programs,prescribed fire, and what birds need and how to make sure your woods have it. On day 2 participants will visit a variety of sites to see examples of the practices and habitat discussed during Day 1 of the workshop and, depending on conditions, have the opportunity to see birds in hand at a bird banding site. Transportation will be provided for these site visits.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Parking is available at the workshop. Transportation will be provided for the site visits on Saturday.
What if I have special dietary needs?
We will be providing lunch both days, as well as snacks. Please let Todd Fearer, the event organizer (contact info below), know if you have special dietary needs (e.g., food allergy, vegetarian).
