Working Collaboratively to Understand and Address Student and Family Needs

By Kinder Institute for Urban Research

Overview

Experts will share existing research on student and family support needs and seek input from school districts and service providers.

Inadequate access to food, clothing, shelter, health care and other resources can hinder students’ academic success and overall well-being. To help address these needs, the Kinder Institute's Houston Education Research Consortium is preparing an assessment to help identify common barriers to success students and families face. During this event, experts will share existing research and seek input from school districts, nonprofit organizations and stakeholders on what type of information would be useful for them to guide program development, decision-making and support.

Service providers will also be on site to answer questions about the programs they offer. If your organization has the capacity to partner with school districts and is interested in sharing information at a table, please let us know when registering and a staff member will be in touch.

PNC is the presenting sponsor of the Kinder Institute's Education Research Engagement Series.
