Join the therapists, physicians, and scientists from the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury (ICSCI) at the Hope Through Motion dinner and reception to be held in conjunction with Working 2 Walk 2015.
Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Become familiar with our cutting edge activity-based restorative therapies (ABRT)
- Speak with experts in the field of spinal cord injury and recovery
- View demonstrations of state-of-the-art therapeutic activities, including:
- Locomotor gait training
- Functional electrical stimulation (FES)
- Robotic upper extremity motor training
- Exosketeton demonstration
- Whole body vibration
- Aquatics and wellness center
- Latest in seating techniques
- Poster presentations on the latest research
- Socialize with colleagues, friends and family
- Enjoy a buffet Italian dinner from one of Baltimore's leading restaurants and drinks in
the Kennedy Krieger Outpatient Center
Additionally, attendees will be able to view the Institute's Aquatic Therapy Program, which utilizes multiple pools with a range of warm temperatures and therapeutic treatment options and features, including:
- Built-in treadmills for retraining and observing gait patterns
- Video systems for monitoring therapy activities
- Multiple jets used for resistance
- Floors that operate on lifts to allow barrier-free entry and exit for easy access by patients in wheelchairs
Complimentary valet or self parking is available in the Outpatient Center garage. Bus transportation will be available from the hotel for a limited number of persons on a first come, first serve basis.
Schedule:
Buses will depart from Hotel at 5:30 p.m.
Buses arrive at Kennedy Krieger at 6:30 p.m.
Dinner and Tours from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Buses depart Kennedy Krieger at 8:15 p.m.
