About this event

Business • Environment & Sustainability

The purpose of this roundtable is to cultivate strategies that those in the room can implement now to advance a green workforce. This group certainly won't be the first to address the underlying issues, but there's so much work to be done.

Since the end of the summer, USGBC has engaged experts in various areas of Workforce Development to assess its current state, discuss what's working, and paths forward. Through these discussions, we have arrived at a limited set of key issues. They include: career "un"awareness; untimely data; missed opportunities for intersector cooperation; a diffusion of meaning concerning the language used within the green workforce; and a lack of strategic direction.

During the hour, we will:
- present these issues
- determine from participants in the room whether we are missing something that should be added
- upvote options from a final set
- examine what may have already been tried to address upvoted options
- enlist allies to either implement what has already worked, or craft new approaches
