Event description

Description

Work in Progress Dinner is an event created to raise funds for artists while sharing a home-cooked meal.

Each guest upon entrance will receive $15 in monopoly money.
(your ticket value - our expenses)

Six artists will present projects they are currently working on.
After presentations we will serve dinner and guests can think about projects they want to support and put the money in the bucket towards the artist they choose to donate to. Guests can divide $15 between projects however they want.

If a person wants to donate more than $15, they can buy more monopoly money from us with cash or venmo.

At the end of the night, artists will get cash to go home, pay some rent, buy some groceries and continue to be themselves.

Food will be prepared for you by Gina Dinner. A local supper club that will be launching in 2020.
Check out their Instagram @ginadinner to see how amazing they are!

The meal is vegetarian. We will not serve alcohol, but feel free to bring it with you.

The space is wheelchair accessible.

The concept and idea of this event belong to Lexa Walsh and is originally called Oakland Stock.

***We chose the artists who will be presenting. We are very proud of all these wonderful people. Drum roll!!***

Shane Zaldivar
"I currently perform in the public eye as the "Pop Up Drag Queen" in front of the SF Ferry Building on weekends. While my performances present family-friendly drag for all walks of life, this project also puts me in a vulnerable position. I use that vulnerability in order to make myself approachable to strangers. I have connected with people from around the world who ask me questions about gender-expression, gender-roles, sexual orientation, transgender issues, and more. I enjoy responding to their curiosity and invite their conversation. My hope is that my performances evoke humanity through queer expression and encourages those who watch to have an open-mind and open-heart. "
