More and more women are reporting being assaulted, harassed, or generally feeling unsafe in their environments. The second level of our Women's Self Defense Series offers women additional tools for self-protection. This women led course focuses on utilizing knees, kicks, and elbows in a way that works well with a woman's natural strength. Frequently asked questions

I have a physical limitation or injury, can I still participate?

Yes. We draw from 8 Martial Arts styles for our movement. Our instructors are trained to meet students where they are standing and how to adapt movement to fit by each individuals needes when necessary. If our standard technique doesn't fit by your current condition, we'll work with you on something

I am a trans woman, female presenting, or non-binary can I attend?

Yes. This workshop is effective and welcoming for transgender women, female presenting and nonbinary members of the community who are comfortable with a female centered perspective. We all face the same issues and the techniques we teach are applicable to this group as well.

What if I have to miss one of the days?

While you will get the best development by attending all days of the course, we understand that life happens. Please let us know if you will not be able to attend so we can adjust and make arrangements to get you caught up before the end of the session if possible.

Can I bring my daughter?

In general, the more the merrier. We do recommend that participants be at least 13 years old due to the content covered in the seminar. For younger participants (ages 13 to 15), parents should be prepared to have difficult conversations about violence against women with their daughters.

What if space fills up and I still want to go?

If we fill up and you still want to go, add your name to the waitlist. If there is high demand, we may be able to add additional sessions as we get closer to the event date. You will also be automatically notified if we have any cancelations.

Can I take this if I haven't taken the Beginning Women's Self-Defense Course (Level 1)?

Self-Defense builds on itself and we will use the tools developed in the first course as a foundation for the skills covered in this course. It is recommended that you take the first course or have previous martial arts, dance, or soccer experience before registering for this course.
