Mitali Mathur

Mitali Mathur is a Senior Director in Target Technology Services, where she is responsible for Target’s core merchandising portfolio. In this role, she leads global product engineering teams that build technologies to drive key capabilities for Target’s merchandising operations. Mitali’s responsibilities include driving and executing technology strategy for key merchandising capabilities such as assortment planning, space and presentation, product design, and development and sourcing.

Prior to merchandising, Mitali led Target’s technology teams, where her responsibilities included managing enterprise payments, tokenization services, gift cards and mobile wallet. She also led Target’s transition to EMV technology – a multimillion-dollar program to enable acceptance of chip-based credit cards in Target stores.

Mitali is passionate about diversity in the workplace and believes that the makeup of the workplace should reflect the world outside. She recognizes that diversity and inclusion are inextricably linked to Target’s ability to achieve its goals, both as an employer of choice and to innovate to meet ever-changing guest needs. It is the belief that led her to be the founding member of the Engineering Manager Immersion Program (eMIP). After a successful launch of the program, she continues to advocate and champion and is on the eMIP advisory board.
