Women in Data Science(WIDS) NY/NJ Regional Conference @ Rutgers

Known as "WiDS”, the Women in Data Science initiative was launched with a one-day technical conference at Stanford University in November 2015. Since then, WiDS has become a global movement to elevate women in the field of data science. WiDS Worldwide programs reach more than 100,000 participants each year.

WiDS goals are:

Elevate women in data science by:

• Inspiring participants worldwide about exciting areas of research and application in data science by highlighting role models and demonstrating the vast opportunities in the field.

• Educating all participants—regardless of gender—about the latest research and state-of-the-art technologies, challenges, and future trends.

• Supporting women in the field of data science—whether as practitioners in industry or researchers and educators in academia, government, or non-profits—helping them to gain exposure for their work, increase networking connections, and energizing them to continue to pursue opportunities related to data science and AI.

WiDS Newark is an independent event that is organized by Jaideep Vaidya, Vijayalakshmi Atluri, and Lisa Kaplowitz as part of the annual WiDS Worldwide conference, the WiDS Datathon, and an estimated 200 WiDS Regional Events worldwide. Everyone is invited to attend all WiDS conference and WiDS Datathon Workshop events which feature outstanding women doing outstanding work.
