Overview
Woman's Group: (Re)connecting to Your Sexuality!
Join our women's group! we get together to talk about what it's like to be a sexual being and express ourselves authentically, free from shame, guilt, or comparison. The focus is on uncovering your genuine sexual self and integrating this aspect into your life in a way that feels fulfilling and authentic. If you feel disconnected from your sexual self or want to deepen into that part of your identity, this group is for you. This is for women who are single or partnered.
In this group, women are encouraged to express themselves authentically, free from shame, guilt, or comparison. The focus is on uncovering your genuine sexual self and integrating this aspect into your life in a way that feels fulfilling and authentic.
A key component of the group involves working through Emily Nagoski's book and workbook, "Come Together." The book delves into the complexities of what makes women’s sexuality stand apart from that of men, providing scientific information that dispels societal misconceptions and validates women’s desires, responses, and preferences.
Exploring your sexuality can be a powerful and transformative journey, but for women balancing the demands of family life, it can feel challenging to prioritize their own desires and identity. Women’s Group Coaching, facilitated by Sophia L. O'Connor, LPC, offers a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to delve deeper into this important aspect of self-discovery.
This ongoing virtual group meets biweekly, providing an opportunity for women to connect, share, and grow together. With a session fee of $100, participants gain access to a wealth of insights, tools, and supportive dialogue designed to help them explore their sexuality in a way that feels authentic and empowering.
Why Join Women’s Group Coaching?
Every woman’s relationship with her sexuality is deeply personal. Life transitions, cultural expectations, and societal pressures often lead women to feel disconnected from their sexual identities.
Women’s Group Coaching is designed to help participants:
- Reclaim their unique sexual identities in a way that feels empowering.
- Overcome challenges such as low desire, body image concerns, stress, or feelings of inadequacy.
- Explore the cultural and societal narratives that shape their understanding of sexuality.
- Build a community of support and solidarity with other women navigating similar experiences.
How the Group Works
The group is rooted in evidence-based approaches and practical tools that encourage self-discovery and self-compassion. A cornerstone of the program is the use of Emily Nagoski’s acclaimed book and workbook, Come Together. This resource helps participants unpack myths about female sexuality, understand their unique sexual responses, and discover ways to integrate pleasure and desire into their daily lives.
With Come Together as a guide, participants will explore key themes such as:
- Understanding Your Sexual Blueprint: Learn how your brain and body work together to create your sexual experiences and identify what truly brings you pleasure.
- Challenging Shame and Guilt: Uncover and address cultural and personal narratives that may lead to feelings of inadequacy or embarrassment around sexuality.
- Fostering Communication: Develop skills to express your desires, set boundaries, and communicate effectively with your partner(s).
- Embracing Pleasure: Prioritize self-care and rediscover the joy and fulfillment that comes from living authentically and in alignment with your needs.
A Safe Space for Women
One of the most powerful aspects of Women’s Group is the sense of community it fosters. Many women feel isolated when it comes to discussing their sexual identities, especially while juggling roles as partners, mothers, and caregivers. This group offers a space where women can be honest and vulnerable without fear of judgment.
Through open discussions, shared experiences, and guided activities, participants often find relief in knowing they are not alone. The connections made within this group serve as a reminder of the resilience and strength women bring to every facet of their lives.
Balancing Sexuality and Family Life
For women navigating the complexities of family life, sexuality can sometimes take a backseat. This group acknowledges the challenges of balancing these responsibilities and provides strategies for integrating sexual wellness into the context of a busy, multifaceted life.
Participants will explore practical ways to:
- Create space for personal pleasure and intimacy despite a packed schedule.
- Maintain strong communication with partners about evolving needs and boundaries.
- Address the impact of family dynamics on self-identity and desire.
