Wizard Robot live @ Amatoria Fine Art Books
Overview
Wizard Robot blends classic jazz improvisation with contemporary song selection from tin pan alley to grunge to top 40 pop. We are delighted to have this talented trio as our musical guests in December.
Led by Daniel J Owens (piano), founder of the Center for Musical Arts in Sacramento, Wizard Robot features Nate Furgason on bass and Jacob Swedlow on drums. Inspired by both contemporary and classic tunes, the trio aims to blur the lines between some of the most recognizable pop songs and legendary jazz standards. The results have engaged both new listeners and jazz fans alike.
The group has performed for audiences in venues such as The California Jazz Conservatory, Yoshi’s Oakland, Somethin, The Bitter End and Pianos in New York City, and various jazz festivals including the Monterey Jazz Fest.
There will be a short Q and A with the band after and plenty of time to snack and browse the stacks. DON'T WAIT to purchase your tickets, Amatoria is a small venue and we always sell out quickly.
We're in a residential neighborhood with street parking so carpooling and ride sharing is advised. Please be respectful of our neighbors so we can contintue to host live events.
