Image Description: A photo taken from the backstage wings features a group of dancers on stage hugging tightly. The two dancers most visible are dressed in layered clothing. The one on the right is wearing olive green pants and a long sleeve mesh sweater. The dancer on the left is wearing green pants with a brown skirt over top, a green flowy tank top and a black long sleeve shirt underneath. The side stage lights are visible on the far left side of the image and the far right side of the image.
Class Description: This practice invites us to reimagine the culture of dance education by weaving Disability Justice into its very core. Together, we’ll expand our ideas of what participation can look like—and what it means to move, rest, and care in community. Through movement, we can connect more deeply with ourselves and one another. Our bodies become instruments for sharing stories, histories, and identities, as well as gateways to memory and tradition. Come as you are—let’s move, rest, and laugh together!
