Welcome to Winterize Your Garden!
Come join us at the City Church Peace of Eden Garden in Fairfield for a fun and informative event to get your garden ready for the winter season. All are welcome. The goal is to conserve nutrients and prepare the garden to thrive in the spring and summer months. Scott Dodson will be on site to tour the City Church garden and discuss how to winterize Garden of Eden. It is our hope that you apply what you have learned to create a thriving Solano County garden.
Topics include:
- soil preparation
- planting cover crops to prevent erosion from fall and winter rains
- adding mulch
- how to manage perennials
- training vines
- "weed" idendification
- brief overview of what to prune? when? how?- berries, grape vines, trees and shrubs
- irrigation
