Winter Tree Pruning Workshop

Overview

Join one of two sessions to learn how to prepare your fruit trees and shrubs for a productive growing season!

Late winter, while your fruiting trees and shrubs are still dormant, is the perfect time to get them in shape for the coming season. Pruning keeps woody plants healthy and looking their best, and increases productivity.

Come learn about fruit tree architecture, types of pruning cuts, tree shaping, and pruning tools with our Urban Grower Lacey. You’ll practice making cuts and leave with the skills and confidence to take care of trees and shrubs in your own yard or community garden.

A few pairs of pruners and one or two pairs of tree saws will be provided. Please feel free to bring any gear you may have.

Pre-reigstration for this event is required, $5-20 sliding scale. If price is a barrier to you attending this class, email arabiyah@thetrustees.org
