This intimate workshop blends photography basics with simple alignment principles drawn from Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff, helping you photograph real people (including yourself!) in ways that feel comfortable, safe, and authentic.

Using this text, you’ll learn how to:
• Understand natural posture lines through yoga-informed alignment
• Photograph people in shapes that feel safe, open, and supportive

• Apply principles of grounding, elongation, and breath-aware positioning
• Pose yourself or others in ways that feel authentic rather than staged

Welcome & Workshop Overview
In an effort to ensure you are not outside in the cold, come to the door at 1:55pm to be buzzed in. Come upstairs to the conference room, and get an overview of what we’ll explore together. We’ll review the flow of the afternoon, set a gentle intention for our time, and make sure everyone feels comfortable with the space, the tech they’ve brought, and the playful spirit of the workshop. *Send me a DM for entry in Slack.
Soft-Light & Winter Glow Basics
Learn how to work with natural and ambient light to create a soft, flattering “winter glow.” We’ll cover simple lighting do’s and don’ts, show you how to position yourself near windows or lamps, and walk through easy camera or smartphone settings that instantly improve your photos.
Composition, Posing & Aesthetic
Explore the basics of composition, posing, and mood. We’ll play with the rule of thirds, framing, and background choices, then look at how small shifts in posture, gaze, and hand placement can change the feeling of a photo. You’ll start imagining the images you want to create today.
