This workshop starts with a short land lesson to review simple safety tips and practical information to successfully operate a standup paddleboard (SUP). The process is broken down into how to get on the board from the dock, how to stand (or not stand), mechanics of paddling, simple turns, and how to safely exit the board. As a group, we’ll paddle to a quiet spot on Griffy Lake and then sit or recline on our boards for quiet meditation, taking in the sounds of nature. The lake is teeming with activity, from blue herons landing nearby to kingfishers flying overhead! Lifejackets, paddles, and standup paddle boards will be provided. 2 hours
