Wine for an Hour Book Club

21+, of course. EVERYONE is welcome, even book club newbies!

Wine for an Hour is now branching out into the literary world with a BOOK CLUB, hosted by me, Natasha, that you do not want to miss! I value different perspectives. You won’t get called out or forced to answer, ever. I created a small book club for us to read, analyze and ponder over every detail in books. A place where we truly understand what the author was is trying to convey. My discussion questions tackles the connection of themes, motives, how a character’s childhood affect their choices, and our ability to empathize with even the worst characters. I prepare all presentations and discussion questions from scratch, so that you will see the warmness of my love of books in everything that I make. There is always room for healthy disagreement and opposing viewpoints.

Wine for an Hour Book Club will focus on breaking up the current book into segments to read over two week. I will always try to at least provide a free, legal PDF of the book. You can participate in our book discussion via text based discussion and/or virtual discussion! For virtual discussions, we meet biweekly, on Sundays @ 2pm EST. After the virtual discussion, text based discussion will be opened (No spoilers this way!). Virtual and Text based discussion will have the same discussion questions, so you never have to worry about if you’re missing anything. If you choose to participate in our virtual discussion, you can join with or without cam and with or without voice. There is a chat, as well, that you can type any answers so that I can read them aloud.

You can join NOW and vote for our next book! Voting ends on November 16th. We will begin reading out new book on November 17th, with Virtual and Text-based discussions begin on November 3th @ 2pm EST and will continue biweekly until the completion of the book! Remember, text based discussion will remain open, indefinitely so you can jump in at any time for discussion.

The Book Club is hosted on Discord. Discord is very easy and simple to use! If you require a brief rundown on navigating Discord, I will personally give you instructions, if you reach out.

Who I am looking for: I want you to show up with an open mind. If you’ve never joined a book club before, let me set the standard on what to expect, moving forward. Our members are all from different walks of life but come together because of our love of books and need for an escape from our busy lives. We occasionally have text based chat throughout the week. We have channels to discuss poetry, wine, general chat, texted based games, and more! Again, EVERYONE is welcome!

We will be wrapping up our last book, The Wife Between Us on November 16th. Even if you haven't read the book, you can still join us to see how our meetings are conducted.

Best,

Natasha

Above, you'll see a screen shot of our General Book channel discussion. We talk about anything book related (not related to our current reading, of course!).

The three screen shots above shows examples of our text based discussion. I experiemented with different formatting to see what worked best for our book club.

Above, you'll see the books that we are currently voting on. There is a description of every book above the poll to better assist with your vote. I ask that you vote based off of my summary and not based off of summaries online, as they tend to post the major plot points/spoilers.

Above, you'll see:

  • My set up: It's very casual, we absolutely drink during discussion and I host from my bed!
  • A screenshot of my presentation (Not sure why there is a blur on my picture!)
  • A virtual discussion in process
