Overview

Join the Street Creature Puppet Collective to make your very own glowing Willow Lantern

Join Jennifer Murphy of Street Creature Puppet Collective to brighten the dark of winter with your own hand-crafted lantern made from paper and willow branches. In this cozy, creative workshop, you’ll build and decorate a glowing lantern using paper cutouts and colorful tissue designs while learning about lantern-making traditions and festivals from around the world.

All materials are provided — just bring your imagination!
Participants are also invited to carry their finished lanterns in the Light the Night AVL Parade in the River Arts District on December 20th.
